Analyses

One per site: the measurements, the named techniques and a verdict on every proposal.

  • labs.google · Page effects (motion, type, pointer) · 25/10/2026

    labs.google, the page effects

Not the things made with the tools: the pages' own craft. Three effects earn the full treatment. The next slide is revealed through a rotating shape that grows past the frame, so a headline splits across the seam. The Playground title is built from horizontal bars that the pointer scatters and that heal in about two seconds. Named cursors trail the visitor's pointer on springs of different stiffness, so a page feels shared before anyone else is there.

  • landonorris.com · Scroll flow · 09/10/2026

    landonorris.com, the whole scroll

The page is one continuous journey, not a stack of sections. A fixed layer sits under everything, the ground colour tweens instead of cutting, each scene's exit becomes the next scene's entrance, and something is always moving. Measured on the same instrument as our replication: no scroll step changes the picture by less than its idle drift.

9 findings · 4 in our skill · Seed subject, second pass (the first pass never looked at the flow between sections)

  • santionispirits.com · Experience · 05/10/2026

    santionispirits.com, the illustrated experience

A comic book you travel through, and most of what looks drawn is live 3D drawn as ink: a line texture added to each surface's tone and cut to black or white, boiling at eight frames a second. It also shows what to avoid: an age gate no keyboard can pass, sound that starts on that gate's click, and reduced motion ignored once inside.

  • A construction client's build (unnamed) · Hero · 02/10/2026

A construction client's build, hero section

A builder's hero that shows a house as found, then wipes across to a visualisation of the finished renovation, with controls to replay it or go back to the starting point. The strongest trade hero in our builds, and on a first visit in Chrome its signature wipe uncovers an empty layer.

  • era-residence.com · Hero · 02/10/2026

    era-residence.com, hero section

A property launch whose hero is a typographic title card that opens through an arch onto the development. Beautiful, built in HTML and CSS, and locked: for about ten seconds a visitor cannot scroll, click, or answer the cookie banner.

  • landonorris.com · Hero · 02/10/2026

    landonorris.com, hero section

A celebrity hero drawn in WebGL, with no visible headline. Its transferable lessons are in the colour system and in what it gets wrong: neutrals built at the accent's hue, a bright accent kept to fills, and a type scale that falls to 5.7px.

Method

A finding is finished at step four. Then we build it.

  1. Capture

A headless full Chromium with the WebGL renderer recorded, so the frames show the page a visitor sees.

  2. Measure

Computed styles, colour tokens in OKLCH, contrast, the type scale at seven widths, and real input: a wheel, a click, a Tab.

  3. Name

The technique in generic words a design skill could carry without ever naming the site.

  4. Build

Our own working version on an invented business, with the failure mode fixed, as a specimen you can use.
